
The Chief Justice Komba Kamanda’s Trophy today came to a thrilling conclusion with a grand finale match between the Sierra Leone Bar Association and the Sierra Leone Medical Doctors Association.
The kick-off for the much-anticipated encounter was done by the Honourable Chief Justice Komba Kamanda who doubles as the Chairman for the ECOWAS Judicial Council.
In a jam-packed field, the match was played in an atmosphere filled with excitement, showcasing not only competitive football but also unity among professionals across different sectors.
After a spirited contest, the Sierra Leone Bar Association emerged victorious, securing the championship title and etching their name as the first winners of the prestigious Chief Justice Komba Kamanda Trophy.
The closing ceremony was marked by the presentation of awards, led by the Honourable Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Komba Kamanda, alongside the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alpha Sesay Esq. Also in attendance was the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Francis Ben Kaifala among host of other dignitaries.
The Chief Justice highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering stronger relationships beyond the courtroom, while also encouraging continued engagement in activities that promote unity and healthy living.
The Chief Justice Komba Kamanda Trophy, organized by the Sierra Leone Bar Association under the leadership of Madam Tuma Jabbie, has been widely praised as a landmark initiative that brings together members of the legal profession and other key institutions through sport. The Sierra Leone Bar Association trashed the Medical Doctors by 5-1.
