Caritas Freetown share another encouraging update from its ongoing partnership with Christ the King Hospital, Waterloo, and it dedicated medical partners from Spain.
The current surgical mission has been a tremendous success, with our volunteer doctors and medical students carrying out numerous life-changing operations and surgical procedures, said Rev. Fr. Peter Konteh, Executive Director Caritas Freetown.
Through the expertise of the visiting team, compassion, and commitment, many patients who had been living in pain and uncertainty have received the care they desperately needed.
For many families, this mission represents more than medical treatment—it is a renewed sense of hope and restored human dignity. It provides access to quality surgical care for people who would otherwise be unable to afford the high cost of specialized operations.
Fr. Konteh noted that, ‘’at Caritas Freetown, we remain committed to our mission of bringing hope to the vulnerable, restoring dignity to those who suffer, and ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to those most in need.
He said every successful operation is a reminder that together, we can transform lives and strengthen our communities.
‘’We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our wonderful friends and partners from Spain—the dedicated surgeons, doctors, medical students, nurses, and all the volunteers whose generosity and professionalism continue to make this mission possible,’’ he said.
The Caritas Executive Director noted that the willingness of the team from Spain serve as a powerful witness to the values of solidarity, compassion, and love for humanity.
