Popular Sierra Leonean musician and cultural icon Drizilik has officially returned to Africell Sierra Leone as the company’s brand ambassador, marking what both parties described as a renewed partnership built on shared values, creativity, and a commitment to national development.
The ambassadorial signing ceremony took place at the conference center of Africell’s mobile company at Wilberforce in Freetown and brought together senior officials of Africell, representatives of Imminent Africa, and invited guests, all of whom celebrated the reunion between one of the country’s leading telecommunications companies and one of its most influential artists.
Delivering the welcome remarks, Mr. Kamanda Koroma warmly received Drizilik back into the Africell family. He noted that the partnership is more than a business arrangement, emphasizing that Africell and Drizilik share the same vision of inspiring people and contributing positively to society. He described the occasion as “a homecoming,” adding that the entire Africell family is proud to welcome the artist back.
Also speaking at the event, Afrimoney Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Martison, officially welcomed Drizilik and reaffirmed Africell’s longstanding commitment to promoting arts, entertainment, and youth talent in Sierra Leone. He said Africell has consistently remained the country’s biggest supporter of the creative industry and believes Drizilik is the ideal personality to represent the brand. According to him, both Africell and Drizilik understand the journey, the people, and the aspirations of Sierra Leoneans, making the partnership a natural fit.
The Communications Director of Imminent Africa also expressed excitement about the ambassadorial agreement, describing it as an important milestone for all parties involved. He assured those present that his organization is fully committed to supporting the partnership and will dedicate its expertise and resources to ensuring that the collaboration achieves its intended objectives. He expressed confidence that together they will realize the growth and impact they all envision.
Speaking after signing the agreement, an emotional Drizilik described the occasion as a special moment of “coming back home.” Reflecting on his journey, he recalled that his relationship with Africell began in 2015, a period he said played an important role in his growth as an artist. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reunite with the company and praised Africell for its continued investment not only in telecommunications but also in community development and youth empowerment.
Drizilik said he is inspired by the company’s progressive work across Sierra Leone and believes the renewed partnership will enable him to use his platform to touch more lives. He stressed his desire to create greater impact in communities through initiatives that promote positive change, while continuing to inspire young people through music and social engagement.
