Lawyer Ady Macauley is one of the practitioners and politicians who have made significant contributions to the Sierra Leone legal landscape. Ady Macauley pursued his higher education in law at the University of London, achieving an LLB (Hons). He served as the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Sierra Leone and previously worked as a prosecutor and Chief of Prosecutions at the ACC.
He has also practiced law, focusing on corporate law, and has been involved in high-profile cases. He is a seasoned politician and a leading presidential aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) in Sierra Leone. His political ambitions have been evident in his public engagements, including a notable speech at the University of Makeni (UNIMAK), where he emphasized the importance of the rule of law in democracy and development.
Ady, as he is commonly called, has received so many awards and gained recognition not only in Sierra Leone but across the globe. He was recently honored as Sierra Leone’s Legal Personality of the Year at the 2025 National Heroes Awards. He also received an international humanitarian award at the House of Lords, Westminster Palace, London, for his contributions to human rights and humanitarian efforts.
