WASH Net & Partners Participates in Health Summit

As part of their mandates to support the government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Health, in the Health Sector, Water Sanitation and Hygiene Network (WASH-NET)  and it partners  were honored to serve as a partner at the 2025 National Health Summit, at the Radison Blu Hotel West of Freetown.

  Representing the network,  WASH-Net, Programa Manager  Peter Senesie, underscored the importance of the contribution  not only in the health sector but water, sanitation and environment as well.   He said WASH-NET, was in attendance, reinforcing  their commitment in making WASH a national health priority. He said  their presentation focuses on “WASH Systems Strengthening for Health Project”. He added that the project is a multi-country initiative aimed at addressing systemic bottlenecks that hinder WASH service performance and financing.

 He pointed out that the project seeks to improve access to inclusive, reliable, and resilient WASH services, with a particular focus on the needs of women and girls, Ultimately, it aims to reduce preventable maternal, child, and infant deaths linked to poor WASH conditions in health facilities and communities.

He noted that the project’s key outcomes include greater use of quality WASH services and increased reliance on evidence to guide sector interventions. It is currently strengthening WASH systems in six countries, measuring progress through independent KPIs, while also providing tailored technical support to governments.
