In a move aimed at building an efficient, resilient and future‑ready transport ecosystem, Hon. Dickson Momoh Rogers, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Aviation, has today Tuesday 02/12/2025 presented a Report to Parliament following a high‑level stakeholders engagement held at the Atlantic Hotel, Lumley Beach Road, on 4th June 2025.

The forum, which brought together senior government officials, parliamentary leadership, regulatory agencies, private‑sector operators, civil‑society organisations, development partners and other key industry stakeholders, served as a strategic platform for dialogue, collaboration and collective reflection on the state and future of Sierra Leone’s transport and aviation sector.
He also said that key discussion themes included digital transformation in logistics, sustainable aviation fuels and green technologies, smart infrastructure development, maritime trade efficiency, public‑private partnerships (PPPs), road‑safety enforcement and inclusive community engagement. Participants noted commendable progress across sub‑sectors whiles highlighting persistent challenges that require urgent policy and operational attention.
He affirmed that the central message from the deliberations was the need for a strengthened collaborative framework, with PPPs identified as a key driver for innovation, modernization and sustainable financing. He said the stakeholders stressed the importance of enhancing regulatory oversight, improving safety standards across all transport modes and accelerating technological adoption to align Sierra Leone with global best practices.
He acknowledged that the resulting report outlines key proceedings, insights and recommendations, calling for strategic parliamentary interventions to address financing barriers, support advanced technologies, reinforce institutional coordination and ensure that transport and aviation initiatives empower communities and contribute meaningfully to national development goals.
The report is now before Parliament for consideration, thus marking a pivotal step towards a more integrated and sustainable and resilient transport systems for Sierra Leone.
