In a significant boost for education in remote areas, the Sunkray Foundation Sierra Leone successfully distributed essential school learning materials to four communities across the Tonkolili and Koinadugu Districts on September 27th and 28th, 2025.
The beneficiary communities included Mabum in Tonkolili District, along with Kaponpon, Kamadaindainna, and Kabendugu in Koinadugu District. Pupils received crucial supplies such as school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, erasers, and sharpeners to support their learning as they begin the new academic year.
The distribution ceremonies were attended by enthusiastic community stakeholders, local leaders, and parents, who expressed profound gratitude for the initiative. The communities offered prayers and extended their thanks, encouraging the Foundation to continue its impactful work and reach even more communities in the future.
During the event, the CEO of Sunkray Foundation Sierra Leone, Madam Isatu Sunkarie Mansaray, gave a heartfelt speech. She thanked God for His continued guidance and provision, and acknowledged the remarkable growth and progress of the Foundation over the years.
Madam Mansaray also extended her deep appreciation to the key sponsors of this year’s outreach, Leone Rock Metal Group Sierra Leone and SeaCoach Express. She praised their generous support and unwavering commitment, which were vital to the success of the 2025 “Back to School Back to Hope” donation project.
