Sierra Leone Football Association Completes CAF D Diploma Coaching Course Nationwide

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has successfully completed the CAF D Diploma Coaching Course, following the structured implementation of both practical and theoretical assessments across the country’s five administrative regions.

Delivered in line with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Coaching Education Framework, the programme focused on developing entry-level coaches with a solid foundation in modern coaching methodology, player safety, session organisation, and fundamental tactical principles. Participants were assessed through on-field practical sessions and a final written examination.

Technical delivery of the course was led by four CAF-accredited coach educators from the Liberia Football Association — Kesselee King Kanneh, Roberts N. Lartey, James Salinsa Debbah, and Sergeant Alhajee Omar Konneh — working in close collaboration with the SLFA Technical Director, John Keister, who supervised the programme to ensure full compliance with CAF coaching education standards.

The conclusion of the programme was witnessed by the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Mr. Babadi Kamara, who commended the participants for their commitment and reaffirmed SLFA’s dedication to coach education as a key pillar of sustainable football development.

The SLFA regards the CAF D Diploma as a critical entry point in the national coaching pathway and remains committed to expanding access to certified coaching education nationwide.
