FREETOWN – The Ministry of Information and Civic Education has officially announced the return of the Salone Civic Festival 2025, a major national event designed to foster dialogue, showcase culture, and strengthen civic engagement across Sierra Leone.
The announcement was made by the Minister, Honourable Chernor Bah, during a government press conference held at the Miatta Conference Centre on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.
Scheduled for the 11th, 12th, and 13th of December 2025, the three-day festival will occupy the entire Miatta Civic Center in Freetown. The event is conceived as a unique platform where all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) will convene with citizens for a series of activities. The programme includes national dialogue sessions, art and cultural exhibitions, a civic award night, and a grand civic concert.
The 2025 edition is being organized by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development. This partnership underscores the government’s commitment to promoting inclusive civic participation and national development through education, dialogue, and culture.
This year’s festival will feature distinguished keynote addresses by His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio and the Honourable Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor Bah, who will also serve as the host of the event. Their participation highlights the importance the government places on building trust, transparency, and collaboration between leaders and citizens.
From cultural exhibitions and debates to music concerts and civic awards, the Salone Civic Festival 2025 promises to be a vibrant celebration of Sierra Leone’s civic spirit. Citizens are encouraged to mark their calendars for three remarkable days where, as the organizers promise, “the people meet the government” in an atmosphere of unity, creativity, and national pride.
