President Dr Julius Maada Bio joined other Heads of State and world leaders at the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Republic of Guinea, H.E. President Mamady Doumbouya. The event was held at the Stade Général Lansana Conté in Conakry on Tuesday.

President Doumbouya, elected following a period of political transition, was sworn in as President, an act that reaffirmed Guinea’s commitment to democratic governance and constitutional order.
In his inaugural address, the new President pledged to strengthen democratic institutions, uphold the rule of law, promote inclusion—particularly for women and youth—and enhance Guinea’s engagement within the international community.

The ceremony underscored regional aspirations for peace, stability, and cooperative political transitions, in line with the ECOWAS Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance.
Sierra Leone and Guinea continue to enjoy strong bilateral relations, rooted in shared history, cultural ties, and cooperation in areas such as trade, digital connectivity, and regional integration. President Bio’s attendance at the inauguration highlights Sierra Leone’s support for regional solidarity and its commitment to strengthening democratic governance within West Africa.
The event was attended by several Heads of State and senior representatives from Africa and beyond, including leaders from Senegal, The Gambia, Rwanda, Mauritania, Gabon, Mali, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, China, the African Union, and ECOWAS.
