A member of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party Young Generation wing, Marshall Saidu Sall, along with several others, is currently on the run following their escape from prison after the November 26th failed coup. The Pademba Road Maximum Prison was attacked and broken into, leading to prisoners escaping. Warrant has been issued by the Sierra Leone Police in Freetown, mandating the arrest of the fugitives, including opposition figures who were serving various jail terms.
According to the police, Marshall Saidu Sall was in jail for abusing President Julius Maada Bio and his ministers. Marshall Saidu Sall was arrested and put in jail without trial and only gained freedom after the November 26th, 2023, coup that led to a jailbreak.
Marshall Saidu Sall, according to Information, was among the young people who normally spent time at the famous youth “Ataya” base. Reports state that he was recorded abusing the President and ministers of government on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, and on January 6th, 2023, he was arrested and thrown into jail without any trial.
Marshall Saidu Sall has been in jail all this while, until November 26th 2023, when the Pademba Road Maximum Prison was broken into before he was able to escape.
