The Leone Rock Metal Group has once again demonstrated its strong commitment to the development of Sierra Leonean football with the official donation of referee kits to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA). The handing-over ceremony took place on Monday, 1st December 2025, at the SLFA Secretariat in Freetown.

Representing the company, Brima Turay explained that the gesture forms part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Leone Rock Metal Group and the Premier League Board (PLB). He noted that the company has already provided $180,000 in cash for this year’s edition of the Premier League, in addition to several items in kind.
Turay highlighted that the support is not new. In the first edition, the company sponsored the league with $80,000 and provided referee kits and other materials. In the second edition, they contributed $150,000 alongside similar in-kind donations. He revealed that additional items—such as digital substitution boards and potentially referee communication gadgets—will soon be presented to further enhance match officiating.
He praised the new PLB leadership for ensuring transparency by inviting the media to witness the process, unlike previous boards which did not always have such opportunities. Turay assured the football community that the company will continue adding new resources every year to improve the league.
Receiving the items, the Referees Manager, Alhaji Sanusi Rashedeen, expressed profound gratitude to the Leone Rock Metal Group, the PLB, and the SLFA. He described the donation as a “huge boost” that will motivate referees and strengthen their professionalism during the tournament.
According to him, the 90 items received will be distributed regionally, based on where Premier League matches are being played. He emphasized that only referees who are fit and actively officiating will benefit, ensuring proper utilization of the kits.
Rashedeen confirmed that referees will begin wearing the new kits on Monday, 1st December 2025, during the match between East End Lions and FC Kallon at the Approved School Field. He reassured the public that all Premier League venues will adopt the new official referee attire going forward.
He commended the PLB Chairman and the SLFA leadership for their passion and dedication to improving refereeing standards nationwide.
The Chairman of the Premier League Board, Osman Tommy, described the donation as a clear result of the MOU signed with the league’s leading sponsor. The agreement covers 90 pairs of football boots, 90 football hoses, and 90 jerseys for referees across the country.
He confirmed that the PLB received the items through the Leone Rock Metal Group and immediately handed them over to the Referees Manager, maintaining full transparency and accountability. Tommy thanked the company for its consistent and substantial support, noting that it significantly boosts referee confidence and contributes to a higher-quality competition.
He assured the public that the PLB will continue to operate openly and professionally as it works with partners to strengthen the Premier League.
