In a move signaling the early start of the 2026 political cycle, lawyer Ady Macauley has formally announced his intention to seek the presidential nomination of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC). Macauley made his appeal directly to party delegates during an appearance on Truth Media’s Morning Devotion show on Tuesday.
Positioning himself as a candidate of integrity and strategic vision, Macauley stated his goal is to lead the APC back to governance in the 2028 presidential election. He emphasized the critical need for unity within the fractured party and across the nation, pledging to restore fairness, inclusivity, and competence in governance if elected.
In his remarks, Macauley launched a strong critique of the current administration, alleging that President Julius Maada Bio has contributed to deep national polarization. He specifically accused the sitting president of dismissing Sierra Leoneans from positions based on their perceived affiliation with the APC or for bearing surnames associated with the party.
The aspirant called upon APC delegates to prioritize the national interest and integrity when selecting their standard bearer, framing his candidacy as the rescue mission the country needs. The campaign is being promoted under the slogans #Ady4You, #MrIntegrity, and #RescueIsOnTheWay.
