Isatu M Kamara, a 6-year child is currently suffering because of heavy wing in the chiefdom.
Report reaches this press indicate that the child Isatu M Kamara was at home when heavy rain with thunderstorm blows and as a result many7 house was destroyed. During that process, one house was uncovered and unfortunately hit her on her head which has led to serious injury.
The life of not only Isatu and her family are devastated but also other citizen in the township. The people are calling on government of Sierra Leone through the National Disaster Management Agency pleading to government provide aid to them.
The severe windstorm has struck the area, causing widespread destruction. Numerous homes have been torn apart, critical educational infrastructure has been damaged, and several residents have sustained injuries during the incident.
Despite the repeated occurrence of such disasters, there has been minimal response to address the growing humanitarian crisis. Victims continue to suffer in silence as their dignity is stripped away by each passing day without meaningful support or intervention. The number of affected individuals continues to rise, and the situation is becoming increasingly dire.
They further called on the Government of Sierra Leone, national and international NGOs, the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society, local politicians, and individual philanthropists to come to the aid of Mambolo Chiefdom. Urgent humanitarian assistance is needed, especially in shelter, medical aid, food, and education recovery.
According to recent forecasts from the Meteorological Agency, heavy storms are expected to intensify throughout this year. As a coastal and riverine community, Mambolo remains highly vulnerable to these climate threats. The fear among residents is growing, as our already fragile environment leaves us at the mercy of unpredictable and worsening weather conditions.
