Health workers nationwide are now better equipped to protect communities from health threats, following a substantial infusion of support from international health partners.
The World Health Organization (WHO) spearheaded the effort with a donation of essential supplies and equipment valued at USD 456,483.20 to the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Agency.

This support was complemented by significant contributions from other global entities. The Fleming Fund provided six computers to strengthen national antimicrobial resistance tracking systems. The Pandemic Fund supplied 92 tablets to enhance electronic disease surveillance across the country. Furthermore, The Global Fund delivered essential equipment and office furniture to fully operationalize five regional Emergency Operations Centres in Bo, Western Area Rural, Port Loko, Kenema, and Bombali.
Officials at the National Public Health Agency stated that this coordinated support is a critical step forward. The new resources will strengthen real-time monitoring of health threats, improve the speed and efficiency of outbreak response, and ensure faster coordination of public health efforts nationwide.
