#Freetown, Sierra Leone – August 2025# In a pioneering move to nurture the next generation of financial leaders, FirstBank Sierra Leone, in collaboration with the Kids’ Parliament Sierra Leone, has launched its first Junior Internship Program. The program officially kicks off at the bank’s head office at 3 Charlotte Street, Freetown and will run for half a month.
Aimed at children aged 9 to 16, from different schools and communities, the internship seeks to equip young minds with essential principles of management and mentorship, fostering a culture of banking and entrepreneurship.
The Managing Director/CEO of FirstBank Sierra Leone, Udeme O. Udoh, emphasized that the future of finance is in the hands of the next generation. He noted that the program aims to identify and develop the potential of young individuals who may otherwise not have the opportunity to shine.
The initiative is designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and a commitment to ethical financial practices.
Through hands-on activities and mentorship, the program provides interns with firsthand insights into the workings of a leading financial institution, helping them build confidence and problem-solving skills.
