First Bank Sierra Leone has proudly concluded its 2025 Junior Internship Program, an initiative that brought together 20 bright and enthusiastic interns aged 9 to 16 for an enriching two-weeks experience. The closing ceremony was held at the bank’s headquarters at 3 Charlotte Street and was graced by esteemed guests, including the Governor of Bank of Sierra Leone represented by Director, Supervision Mr. Mohamed Bah and Mr. Tamba Jusu Koiyia
The event showcased the interns’ creativity as they presented innovative ideas for new banking solutions including Apps, blending real-life challenges with their unique perspectives. Their presentations not only highlighted their smart thinking but also brought a sense of amusement and inspiration to all attendees.
In his welcome address, Managing Director Mr. Udeme Udoh extended heartfelt appreciation to the young interns for their dedication and enthusiasm. He also thanked the bank’s staff for creating a welcoming environment, allowing the interns to learn and interact freely despite the busy schedule. He also acknowledged the parents and customers for their support and trust.
Mr. Malvin Success Kanteh, the Director of the Kids’ Parliament, also praised FirstBank for the program which is the first of it kind in Sierra Leone and the educational and innovative values embedded in the program. He expressed excitement for future collaborations with FirstBank.
The ceremony also featured a quiz competition, where the top five performers were awarded cash prizes, directly deposited into their FirstBank accounts.
In her closing remarks, Executive Director of FirstBank SL Mrs Boblinda Bami-caulker expressed her gratitude to everyone who contributed to the program’s success, including the Bank Governor.
This year’s program not only fostered a spirit of innovation among young minds but also reinforced FirstBank’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
