WASH-Net and Health Alert, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and with generous support from the Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) and GAVI, successfully conducted a day training on Domestic Resource Mobilisation (DRM) in Kenema. The training brought together key stakeholders from the Kenema District Council, the District Health Management Team (DHMT), and civil society organisations to strengthen local capacity for sustainable health financing.
The sessions focused on deepening participants’ understanding of DRM principles, identifying local financing options for immunization and public health services, and improving planning and budgeting practices. A core objective was to foster stronger collaboration between the district council and DHMT to enhance coordination, transparency, and accountability in health financing. With continued support from GHAI and GAVI, WASH-Net and Health Alert are proud to champion local ownership and resilient, community-driven health systems in Sierra Leon.
