One of the leading communication champions in the country, “Africell” on Wednesday, 9th July 2025, officially signed 11 Sierra Leonean artists as brand ambassadors.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the Africell Board room, Wilberforce, the Digital Pillar Lead for Africell Company, Fatmata Jaria Bah underscored the importance of the ceremony. She said the ceremony is not just a signing ceremony or partnership but a celebration of achievement, culture, empowerment, creativity and support toward Sierra Leone artist and entertainment as a whole.
She said the aim of the company is to empower and promote Sierra Leonean talents through this initiative, adding that the signing is part of Africell’s ongoing efforts to support the entertainment industry in Sierra Leone.
The Deputy Media Relations Person, Abdul Azees Kamara welcome all on behalf of the Africell team, while recalling how the process started and commended other partners for their support.
He lauded the effort of Artical Foyor for his willingness adding that he believes in law. Therefore, the signing was a clear manifestation of putting talks into action. He noted that Artical Foyor has been very supportive and stated that there is also a potential for other artists to come onboard.
Mr. Kamara described the platform as not only for economic benefit but also create interface for people to have access to their different song.
He encouraged all the 11 artists to encourage their fan to always subscribe to their songs, noting that the 55 songs will be played on daily basis and more song will be included and people are expected to pay with a minimal amount for each.
Each artist signed individual agreement and payment will also follow respectively.
In his appreciation on behalf of the entire artist, the head of the Team Emmanuel Foyor Rogers aka Artical Foyor commended Africell for the partnership citing the significance of the process stating the added value the signing is bringing to their career as musicians.
He called on other artists to work harder to ensure their music reach the last place.
It could be recalled that Africell Mobile company plans to continue engaging more artists and other entertainment figures for partnership as part of their promotional efforts.
Africell’s commitment to the entertainment industry goes beyond just signing artists. Africell has been playing Sierra Leonean music on a 24-hour basis on AIRadio and has been involved in events like the Africell-sponsored Housemates Salone. This demonstrates Africell’s dedication to promoting local talents and fostering a vibrant entertainment scene in Sierra Leone.
