Ady Macauley Storms Bombali, Makes Strong Case for APC Leadership and Party Unity

On July 2nd, 2025, the APC delegates and stakeholders of Sheborah Chiefdom in Makeni, Bombali District, gathered in high spirits to welcome the leading APC presidential aspirant Lawyer Ady Macauley and his team. The event began with prayers from both Islamic and Christian faith leaders, reflecting the unity and diversity within the APC family.

District Chairman Hon. Martin Bangura delivered the welcome address, reaffirming Bombali’s historical significance as the stronghold—or “rock”—of the APC. While noting that many aspirants had visited, he encouraged the audience to pay close attention to what Macauley had to offer that was different.

Addressing the gathering, Ady Macauley grounded his message in faith and patriotism. A devout Muslim, he emphasized that leadership is divinely appointed through the will of the people, urging delegates to vote wisely in choosing the right leader for Sierra Leone. Demonstrating his commitment to grassroots empowerment, that is why he donated NLe 50 million to each district including Bombali to support party registration drives. This, he said, is part of his broader belief in building the party from the ground up, empowering those at ward, constituency, and regional levels.

Macauley also reflected on the country’s political and social struggles in the past 6 years, citing painful moments such as the August 10 protest, the Pademba Road incident, unrest in Lunsar, and others. These, he explained, are reminders of the cost of bad leadership and disconnection from the people and affirm the people of a better leadership that’ll be reflective in their lives.

The APC  leading APC presidential aspirant pledged his continued regular visits and consistent engagement with party structures across all levels, from ward executives to national stakeholders and emphasizing that grassroot members are the true engine of the APC’s future success.

In his closing remarks, Chairman Martin Bangura echoed a call for action over complaints. He reminded attendees that regaining power demands courage, unity, and strategy. Citing Ady Macauley’s track record in defending and representing the APC in tough moments, he urged members to support whichever candidate is chosen, emphasizing that internal unity is non-negotiable. “Power is a life-and-death struggle,” he said firmly, “and we must stand together to reclaim our rightful place, which is the State House with the right candidate.”
