Leone Rock Metal Group (LRMG) has emerged as a shining example of corporate excellence in Sierra Leone, securing two prestigious accolades at the maiden edition of the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security’s annual labour conference and awards ceremony. The company was honoured with the “Mining Company of the Year” and the “Labour Compliant Award”, highlighting its remarkable contributions to both the mining sector and labour compliance in the country.
The Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Security, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, lauded LRMG for its role in maintaining industrial harmony and setting a benchmark for other companies to emulate. He emphasized that LRMG’s commitment to upholding employment standards has significantly contributed to the government’s overarching development agenda.
With over 7,000 national employees, LRMG stands as the single largest employer in the country’s private sector, directly supporting the government’s ambition to create 500,000 jobs. This substantial contribution to national employment underscores LRMG’s position as not just an industrial powerhouse but also a responsible corporate citizen.
Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, HR Consultant Mohamed Daffae reaffirmed LRMG’s dedication to supporting the government’s goals and, more importantly, the people of Sierra Leone. He emphasized the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, job creation, and continued collaboration with national stakeholders
“These awards are a testament to our long-standing values of compliance, development, and community partnership,” Daffae stated. “We are proud to contribute meaningfully to the growth of Sierra Leone and will continue to work hand in hand with the government to drive progress.” The recognition of LRMG not only highlights its current achievements but also sets a strong precedent for corporate governance and labour responsibility across the country.
