Marking World Malaria Day in Renewed Commitment to End Malaria for Good, one of the leading advocacy organizations in the country has called on all Sierra Leonean to unit as we celebrate world malaria day 2025.
In a press release issue in celebration of world malaria day 2025, Health Alert reaffirms its commitment to the global fight against malaria. The release further deliberated on states that preventable and treatable diseases that continue to affect millions of people worldwide.
This year’s theme, Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite,” serves as a rallying call for governments, healthcare providers, and communities to step up efforts to eliminate malaria once and for all.
The release states that with an estimated 597,000 deaths globally in 2023, malaria remains a significant public health challenge. particularly in Africa and Sierra Leone to be specific.
“In our collective pursuit of a malaria-free country, we must prioritize investments in innovation, accessibility, and community-driven solutions,” said Victor Lansana Koroma, Executive Director of Health Alert. ‘Every life saved strengthens our commitment to making malaria a thing of the past.”
World Malaria Day is not just a day of reflection but also a day of action. Health Alert urges all stakeholders to join hands in addressing the key drivers of malaria and accelerating progress toward National eradication.
