Information Minister Education Receives Geneva Mission’s Newsletters

The Honourable Minister of Information and Civic Education, Mr. Chernor Abdulai Bah, has received the first, second, and third editions of the Sierra Leone Permanent Mission’s newsletters in Geneva. The presentation was made by the Head of Chancery and Minister Counsellor, Mr. Edward Kawa, on behalf of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Dr. Lansana Gberie, to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva.

The three editions of the newsletter—produced under the initiative and coordination of the Information Attaché, Mr. Mohamed Sheriff, highlight the Mission’s key activities and engagements at the multilateral and bilateral levels. They also showcase the Mission’s contributions to international dialogues, achievements, and, importantly, feature coverage of major global events involving His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio.

Minister Bah, who made a brief stopover in Geneva following his successful participation in the Paris Peace Forum (27–31 October 2025), was warmly received by Mr. Kawa at the VIP reception section of the Geneva Airport. He was accorded full courtesies by the Airport Protocol Service upon arrival.

During the presentation, Mr. Kawa commended Minister Bah for his innovative leadership in advancing civic engagement, communication reforms, and governance initiatives—efforts that have enhanced transparency and public participation in national discourse.

He encouraged the Minister to continue promoting government activities through strategic civic engagement.

In response, Minister Chernor Bah expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Dr. Lansana Gberie, through Mr. Edward Kawa, for the Mission’s excellent representation in Geneva, teamwork, and support to the Information Attaché in executing his duties effectively.

He revealed that the Ministry is planning one of Sierra Leone’s largest national festivals in December, which will bring together all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to present their 2025 achievements, challenges, and strategic plans for 2026.

The Minister also commended Mr. Mohamed Sheriff for his dedication and professionalism in producing the Mission’s newsletters, describing them as “a valuable platform for showcasing Sierra Leone’s diplomatic achievements and international engagements.
